About
Hi! I'm Hannah! I live and work in Harrogate, North Yorkshire. I have always had a love for dogs since getting my own Cocker Spaniel, Max, when I was very young. When I was 16 I also rescued a Border Collie, Riley. These two sparked my passion for dogs and how to train them. I studied a BTEC in Animal Management in which I got a triple Distinction from Askham Bryan College. I then went on to complete a BSc in Psychology and Animal Behaviour from University of Chester. Throughout college and University I have worked or volunteered at a huge variety of Animal related organisations including Flamingo Land Zoo, Scarborough Sealife Centre, Hesketh Farm Park and Draughton Riding Centre. So I am not just limited to dogs! Since University I have worked at a local boarding kennels. Here I ensure the dogs receive the best care possible. I take care of breeds of all shapes and sizes from tiny chihuahuas to giant Great Danes (and of course many, many cockapoos!). I am experienced in administering medication if and when needed. In 2018 I started training with The Institute of Modern Dog Trainers.

Who are the IMDT?
ALL IMDT Trainers have undergone a rigorous Assessment process to meet the high standards expected of any IMDT member. Dog Owners have long understood the importance of using not only a highly trained and experienced Dog Trainer, but also a Trainer that adheres to a Strict Code of Ethics to ensure both Owner’s and Dog’s training needs and met and exceeded in a positive and effective way. IMDT Members are PRACTICALLY Assessed on both their Dog AND People training skills. That's what Owners get from an IMDT Qualified Trainer, peace of mind that the IMDT logo is a kite-mark of quality, knowledge and understanding. ALL IMDT Full and Student Members have undergone a rigorous, PRACTICAL Assessment process to ensure they can deliver quality in four major areas of dog training: Group Classes, Home Visit Consultations, One To One Training, and Canine Behaviour Knowledge. Every IMDT Trainer is Re-Assessed every two years to ensure Continual Professional Development (CPD) is regularly maintained and expanded. On top of the Assessment, I have also attended many other IMDT behaviour courses, including: Career as a Dog Trainer, Practical Instructor Course, Perfect Puppy, Canine Aggression & Rehabilitation, Loose lead walking, Happy Recallers, Body Language and The Exercises. I have many more courses coming up this year! I am also currently studying towards Level 3 in Understanding and Working with Canine Behaviour: Learning, Motivation and Reinforcement. This is accredited by the Open College Network. IMDT Trainer Consultation costs are also covered by MiPetCover Insurance. I am Fully insured by Protectivity, DBS Checked and Canine First Aid Trained. |
Testimonials - I would highly recommend Hannah she is really accommodating to your exact needs to suit your dog. Well qualified and years of experience with dogs of all different behaviour types and situations. To me it’s more than important my dog is safe and with someone who can react to his behaviour on each walk. I am over cautious as an owner but I couldn’t feel more comfortable with Hannah taking Rocco out because she’s goes above and beyond to suit what he needs. - Michaela Stothard, Facebook
